The ethos behind Tamu Bakery is to create cakes and patisserie from around the world, with an emphasis on healthy and natural ingredients which are tasty and interesting (sorry, we don't do gacky icing!), with all profits going to help girls and women who have been victims of gender-based violence.
Tamu began by supplying a range of cause-related cakes and patisserie to boutique hotels and restaurants in Cornwall, UK. Tamu then shifted to Colombo, Sri Lanka (click here for the review in the local foodie magazine, Yamu).
Yana has been fortunate enough to train in Hong Kong with world-renowned chocolatier Marike van Beurden, and has collaborated with many talented chefs in the UK. She attended a patisserie course at Ashburton Cookery School.
Now based in the Middle East, Yana passes on her passion for baking and travel through baking workshops, writing articles about food around the world, and developing new recipes.
…just sat here eating your cake in complete awe. Wow wow wow!!!!! So soft, light, yet moist…and incredibly delicious! Full of flavour and heavenly caramel. Gorgeous.
Hi Yana, would you please pass my thanks on to everyone at Tamu Bakery. The chocolate cake was absolutely delicious. Enjoyed by all twenty of us for Saturday tea. It was especially appreciated by our eldest granddaughter who ate the last slice for breakfast the next day! Thank you again for your generous support of Cornwall Pride.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the wonderful cakes you baked for our wedding on Sat. We had a brilliant day and so many people commented on how yummy the cakes were! They looked gorgeous too!
